    1. My favorite reaction to Cascade Layers, like: 'I never have these issues because I *just* use strict selector conventions & three different build tools to ensure that specificity never applies! What a useless feature!' Totally, bro. Can't imagine why we thought this might help.

    But I think a lot of us – including 'experts' – think that way, even without tooling. We've just gotten used to it: avoid IDs & nesting, add specific class names, don't style element types, etc. How many CSS norms come from avoiding selector conflicts? Are they still relevant?

      I think we all have a lot to unlearn as we start playing with this new feature. Very much including myself in that. I'm curious what selector best practice looks like in five years.
