    Una dickelippe This is the original design & purpose of important. It reverses the order of origins (browser, user, site) so that normally low-power origins (browser & user) can insist on certain things. Layers are designed to be like "custom origins", & keep that power-balancing feature intact

      Una dickelippe you can see in the diagram how everything is reversed in the important origins - not just the custom layers, but also the browser and user styles
