It seems to me like the main lesson of comparing 100k against median income is not "100k == rich" (which is a valid definition, but lacks any nuance). Where a more interesting analysis might be "the median income sucks, because capitalism requires poverty & maintains disparity."On twitter.com

"words mean things" -> "words usually mean a whole range of different things, depending on context, and sometimes contradict themselves." 100k is both rich & not rich & also contextually rich, because there are many ways of using that word, and each leads to different analysis.Permalink On twitter.com
