tabatkins As someone who mainly hangs out in theater circles, that second example isn't really landing for me – & actually adds to my main thesis (as does Vinyl v CD). I'm not arguing that media never die, but that we get to decide when/why, & it's more complicated than simple popularity.

tabatkins The idea of a "competition" between movies and theater, with theater no longer "in the running" <– that's imposed, and kinda meaningless. Both still exist, and I enjoy both, and neither will disappear anytime soon.
