darth_mall Sure, custom properties solve an overlapping issue – allowing specific, predetermined customizable parameters. There's nothing totally new here we can't already do _somehow_. But also nothing else captures this sense of style "layers" in any meaningful way.

darth_mall Custom props represent a style that can be changed on-the-fly, which is a bit different intent… I have an article on how I use them to "solve" both layering & scoped styles.
